DynaVenture Group ERP System
Prior to 2003, each member company of the DynaVenture Group was using an independently managed Information System to track their inventory, production and sales. The various solutions were selected individually but all had the common element of being insufficient for the identification and forcasting of accurate cost-accounting information as well as inventory and production management. DynaVenture's senior management noticed the trend in several locations and determined that there was an opportunity to significantly improve overall business performance and profitability by taking a company-wide approach to the problem.
When DynaVenture brought the leaders of the operating companies together to assess the situation and ascertain common needs, it became quickly apparent that cost allocation and profit control information were not being gathered correctly by any of the current software solutions. At this point, selecting and implementing a corporate level Enterprise Resource Planning System became a top priority. The management teams met regularly to further define their needs, design their ideal solution and evaluate available ERP systems. Once the team selected an ERP solution that worked for all DynaVenture Group operating companies , a project leader was hired at the corporate level, and the implementation cycle began.
From concept to complete installation in eight locations the process took three years, entailing significant learning and operational changes for everyone involved. All of the implementations have been successful, with excellent results in terms of cost-allocation, job- profitability calculation, inventory management, production management and process control.
